L&I Honors Elite Construction + Development with Year-One START Award Certification, the First Step of a Five-Year Safety Certification Program

OCTOBER 13, 2022 – PASCO, WA

On Thursday, October 13th, 2022, L&I representatives visited the Elite Construction + Development headquarters in Pasco, WA to present the company with the year-one START Award Certification, which is the admittance steppingstone of a rigorous five-year safety certification program. Per L&I’s congratulatory letter addressed to Elite, this significant achievement places Elite in an exclusive group of organizations that demonstrate and maintain exemplary worker injury and illness prevention programs.

“You are one of twelve companies in this program, it’s fantastic”, said John McFadden, L&I Regional Consultation Manager for DOSH Region X, during the ceremony.

To achieve and maintain START status, which stands for Safety Through Achieving Recognition Together, Elite Construction + Development committed to undergo a comprehensive review of our safety, health, and risk management programs, correct all identified safety and health hazards, and achieve a Days Away, Restricted, Transferred (DART) Rate and Total Recordable Case (TRC) Rate below the national industry average among many other certification requirements.
