Elite Construction + Development has partnered with A Sharp Painter, Stripe Rite, and Saul Martinez from Martinez Artes to beautify the outdoor play space at Captain Gray STEM Elementary School in Pasco, WA.

The partnership aims to introduce Elite’s on-going commitment to building+ community by highlighting one of their key initiatives around youth sports. Elite CEO, Trini Garibay, touts that his success as executive and entrepreneur can, in part, be attributed to his time on the basketball court. “There are so many lessons to learn from organized sports that I apply to my job as both CEO and dad.” He continues, “discipline, teamwork, vision, hard work, and having fun is the epitome of how we run our business. I’m grateful that we can share our mission and expertise with our community through this initiative.”

In 2020, Elite started their partnership with Captain Gray STEM Elementary School as a community partner, assisting with their Bite2Go Program and prizes for their student incentive program. Elite’s desire to create a sports and public art partnership was fueled by Captain Gray Behavior Interventionist Jamie Chavez’s enthusiasm and diligence. She quickly worked with Stephen Story, Executive Director of Maintenance and Operations for Pasco School District to evolve the partnership from ideation to reality.

Once approved, Elite enlisted the assistance of Saul Martinez, artist and New Horizon’s teacher, for design and mural direction. “As an artist, teacher, and community member, it means the world to provide something that activates a space for our students to feel noticed and appreciated,” said Martinez. “Community projects like this uplift the human spirit – I hope Captain Gray kids realize how much their teachers and community love them.”

Elite also reached out to partners Randy Thomas from A Sharp Painter and Frank Artz from Stripe Rite for their expertise in court surface painting.

According to Grace Lieberman, Director, Business Development at Elite, who also oversees marketing and community initiatives, “the willingness and enthusiasm from our partners, internal teams, and the school district to bring this beautiful project to life has been inspiring. Together we can make a difference.”

The project commenced on March 31st and is estimated to be completed within a month for Captain Gray STEM Elementary students to enjoy for many school years to come. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will occur on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at 12:15 p.m.
