241-TX Tank Farm Evapotranspiration Installation
In 2020, Elite installed the evapotranspiration basin and storm-water conveyance system and associated under piping to support retrieval operation at 241-TX Tank Farm.  The basin consisted of an 86,000-ft depression with sloped walls and floor lined with an impermeable membrane and drainage grid. The drainage grid consisted of perforated pipe to distribute runoff collected from the tank barrier to the lower layer of the lined basin. Elite utilized existing soil excavated from construction of the evapotranspiration basin as backfill for the top layer with vegetation planted on the top layer.

The project included work elements such as site preparation, survey and layout of the evapotranspiration basin and drainage system, clearing, grubbing and excavation of evapotranspiration basin.  It also included installation of geo-membrane liner, drain line header and perforated drain line in the evapotranspiration basin, back fill of the evapotranspiration basin, planting the evapotranspiration basin, installation of perimeter single line chain fence, storm water collection and routing along with excavation and placement of stormwater catch basins and drain lines within the tank farm and the drain line between the tank farm and the evapotranspiration basin.

Elite had all the right tools including labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and services for procurement, receiving, handling, storage, protection, fabrication, installation, inspection, quality assurance and testing.  Add a highly seasoned group of professionals in Levi Sherman, Aryn Kerr, Kyler Davenport and Philip Borsik to manage the work precisely and you have a successful project delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards and safety measures.

2018-2020 WRPS Mentor-Protege

As a DBE and MBE, we are proud to work alongside WRPS as part of their Mentor-Protégé program for two years running.  The DOE Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage DOE prime contractors to assist small disadvantaged businesses by enhancing their capabilities to perform contracts and subcontracts for DOE and other federal agencies.

“With the Department of Energy and Hanford being so close to home, we feel proud to be a part of this mentor-protégé relationship,” said Trini Garibay, Elite president and CEO. “We are local and want to take part in the efforts towards keeping our communities and families safe for generations to come.”

Awards

Our Federal Government team is comprised of veteran industry-leaders who have been instrumental in award-winning projects throughout their careers. Below are a couple of examples.
