During National Payroll Week (September 6-10, 2021), Elite Highlights Ariana Castellanos, Accounting Specialist and the Recent Implementation of a New Time-Keeping System, ExakTime

Elite Construction + Development is home to over 100 team members that work hard for their paychecks. Ariana Castellanos is no exception. As Elite’s accounting specialist responsible for payroll, she works diligently to make sure that everyone gets their paychecks on time and that the payroll withholding system, vital to the funding of important government programs such as Medicare, social security, and much more, is intact and without error.

To the layman, it may seem “effortless” to receive a paycheck every pay period without flaws, but for everyone to get paid on time, Ariana reviews timecard entries, ensures proper cost codes, approvals and accuracy of information. She also confirms paid and sick leave and does so in a timely manner. According to Ariana, “accuracy, confidentiality and being personable” are invaluable traits in her position. She adds “I want to make sure my team feels confident and comfortable coming to me with any questions or concerns they may have regarding their payroll.”

That said, she also states that “technology plays a vital role in payroll.” Elite recently implemented Exaktime, as their new time-keeping system. Specifically, ExakTime’s time clock app allows the company to move away from paper timecards and an easy-to-use web-based time tracker app accurately tracks construction-site workers’ clock in and clock out, activities, and GPS location, reducing payroll costs from the first clock-in. All data is available in the cloud which makes tracking information more productive. Payroll is just one area where Elite continues to make technological enhancements to become more productive.
