Celebrating Construction Appreciation Week: How Can You Get Involved?

2022 Construction Appreciation Week

SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 – PASCO, WASHINGTON

Observed annually on the third week of September, Construction Appreciation Week recognizes and celebrates the hard-working men and women who (literally) build our communities. Established in 2018 by I Build America, a movement to generate pride and respect for the construction industry, the 2022 theme for the five-day tribute from September 11th through 17th is “We Build America.”

From the construction of essential transportation infrastructure to crucial medical, educational, residential, and commercial buildings, the construction industry is fundamental to our way of life. And with millions of job opportunities across the country, construction provides a rewarding career path for those who want to directly impact their communities for the better.

At Elite, building community is our business and we would like to acknowledge the 60% of our team members who constitute our jobsite tradesmen and women that make this possible. With over 145 years of combined finish carpentry experience, including framing, painting, siding, and roofing, our Private Division craftsmen have built and remodeled countless houses, hospitals, schools, and stores around the Tri-Cities, WA area. Our Government Division fieldmen and women, who boast an astonishing 375 years of combined experience in high-radiation and nuclear remediation work, have been involved with the nearby Hanford Site clean-up mission from as early as the late 70’s. Whether constructing everyday-life structures or ensuring a cleaner future, both our government and private sector jobsite crews have made a lasting impact for current and future generations to come – all with their own bare hands.

How can you get involved with Construction Appreciation Week? National Calendar Day suggests telling those you know in the construction industry how much you appreciate their work, posting construction photos to social channels using #ConstructionAppreciationWeek, and sharing the official Construction Appreciation Week videos, stories, and graphics by I Build America on social media!
